Other interesting suggestions made at the Richard Onslow were
Sam: The Lacuna
and Louise recommended the DVD "The painted Veil"
Caroline put this in the comments but I've moved it here in case someone misses it.

How to post
how to post:
After you log in, click 'New Post' on the top right hand of the page, it brings up a dialogue box. Click on the 'compose' tab to ensure you get all the toolbar.
You can add pictures by: there is a little picture of a picture on the oolbar, click to insert image, which brings up a dialogue box and click to upload and then browse through your pictures file and choose. I found that I could only upload one at a time as if I choose more than one, the newer one seemed to supercede the previous one. (More experienced posters can tell if I'm doing it wrong.)

Forgot to say...
that the feeling of those who met was that we would prefer to save Bosham as a treat for summer and provisionally set the next date for 7th October, venue to be confirmed.
First meeting of the year
2nd September

Suggestions for next reading year:
Vicky: Barbara Pym 'Jane and Prudence'
Liz D: Kathryn Stockett 'The Help'
Caroline: Ali Shaw 'The Girl with Glass Feet'
Louise: Barbara Trapido (not sure if you meant Sex and Stravinsky or the Travelling Hornplayer - can you confirm?)
Jo: Raymond Carver 'The Big Sleep'
Sam: Gabrielle Kim 'His Last Duchess'
suggestions still to come from Rosie, Liz and Angela.
Interesting suggestions that came up:
Jane Gardam 'The Queen of the Tambourine'
There were others that I didn't write down but Caroline did and hopefully will add them
